Everyone,
We have an exciting couple of months planned for the scouts of Pack 170!
Here are some of the events we have coming up:

Tuesday October 21st 7:00PM: Pack Meeting at East Pikeland Elementary
School. We will have our uniform inspections at this meeting. Tigers
will be doing our opening flag ceremony. Bears will provide a skit and
Webelos II will lead us in a game.

Thursday October 23rd 6:00pm: Hayride at Yeager's Farm. Come on out
for a fun evening featuring a ride out to the pumpkin patch. Each scout
will get to pick a pumpkin to take home. We finish up with roasted
marshmallows at a campfire served with cider and traditional spiced
wafers. The pack covers the cost of this event. We will have a sign up
sheet at the pack meeting to plan the number of wagons and food needed.
Siblings are always welcome!

Saturday November 1st 2:00pm: Service project at East Pikeland
Elementary. The Home and School association is our chartering
organization. They provide a place for us to meet and are always
supportive of scouting. It is important for the boys to learn that we
should always be willing to give back and be supportive in return. We
will meet at the school and have a clean up project. We may be raking
leaves, picking up trash and pulling weeds around the school grounds. I
will be talking to Ms. Cox about any specific requests she may have.

Friday November 14th 7:00: Camp-In at the Franklin Institute. This
is a Big One! Scouts are guaranteed to have a great time when they
explore the Franklin, take part in a spy themed game, take in a movie at
the Omniverse theater and sleep (sure they do!) over in the museum.
Bring a sleeping bag or blankets and a pillow and prepare for an awesome
experience. The cost is $41 per person but the pack will subsidize part
of the cost. Scouts and parents will pay $30 each and the pack will pick
up the rest. We will have a sign up sheet at the pack meeting. Do you

Don't forget to bring your popcorn sheets and money to the pack meeting!
If you are the parent of a new scout and have not yet turned in an
application, please bring it with you or get one from Jeff Jones. Feel
free to let me know if you have any questions, concerns or ideas.

Thank you,
Patrick Conway
